Background

Andrew attributes much of his understanding of the need to help those in the community, arising from the strong values and actions of the Marist Brothers while at Ashgrove, particularly in their sponsorship of the SVDP Margaret Street City Homeless Mens Hostel and their work in assisting the local elderly through lawnmowing and visitations. He was also inspired by the various Christian Brothers that supported him while studying at tertiary level and working at Nudgee College.

Prior to coming to the bar, Andrew founded the Lutwyche Employment Centre, a volunteer-based employment advisory and referral service, for unemployed workers in Lutwyche and the surrounding areas.
